Absence of Illegal Exploitation Of Fauna

This sub-sub-indicator assesses the extent of organised crime related to fauna. Fauna crimes involve the poaching, illicit trade in as well as possession of species covered by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) as well as other species protected under national law. Protected marine species, and illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing is also considered.
