Separation of Powers

This sub-indicator assesses the extent to which there is a working separation of powers (checks and balances). It assesses the extent to which there is a clear separation of powers with mutual checks and balances and the basic configuration and operation of the separation of powers. It includes the subjection of state power to the law.
