This sub-indicator assesses the extent to which the government successfully contains corruption. It assesses the extent to which adequate institutional arrangements exist to implement an anti-corruption policy and if they successfully contribute to an effective prosecution of corruption. It also assesses the extent to which the government implements and monitors the following integrity mechanisms: auditing of state spending, regulation of party financing, citizen and media access to information, accountability of officeholders including asset declarations, conflict of interest rules, codes of conduct and transparent public procurement system.
