This sub-indicator assesses the extent to which the Office of National Statistics (ONS) has autonomy to collect data of its choosing. It also assesses the extent to which the ONS has autonomy to publish data without prior clearance or approval from any branch of the government, and funding is sufficient to collect and publish data of its choosing.
